Magical Learning Opportunities Through Movement and Choice
My students need flexible seating options, such as lap desks, stools, and balance balls, that will allow them to work past the walls of a traditional learning environment.

I want to make learning magical for my students.
Our classroom theme is designed around the magical world of Hogwarts. My students are curious, passionate, driven and creative. They are our future and I strive to bring my best to the classroom because of them. My goal is to provide an environment where my students can learn successfully, but also for them to make choices to take control of their own learning. As a middle school teacher, student motivation and engagement is my number one priority.
"Mrs. V! I don't want to ever leave!" This was expressed to me as a student entered the classroom for the first time. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and home lives. Many of them face challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. Because of this, I strive to provide a safe and comfortable place for my students to be. My goal is to create a space that my students believe that anything is possible.
My Project
My students love to learn and I believe it's my job to provide a magical environment that sets them up for ultimate success. Research tells us that our brains process information better when we have the opportunity to move. Moreover, experience has taught me that students are more engaged and hard working when they have the opportunity to choose where and how to work.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will be able to play an active role in contributing to their academic achievement.
The various forms of seating (stand up table, floor desks, and stools that can be moved around the room or outside) will help my kids take control of their own learning by creating opportunities for choice. I believe that the more comfortable you are, the harder you will work.
