Tough times call for tough measures! Our educational world has been turned upside down, yet we as teachers have found a way to plan high quality education to our students. Planning was not hard to accomplish. In my grade level, we have implemented technology in a one-to-one device for the past two years.
The hard part has been making sure our students have the necessary to continue learning at home.
Most of our students live in high poverty. Internet access is not so accesible to our students’ families. However, that has not been an impediment to deliver our instruction. Our community has become one during this pandemic. Companies are providing free internet for our students. We will continue delivering instruction and making sure our students continue in spite of this contingency.
Our “classroom” has expanded across our city. We don’t longer see or hear each other in the same building. Our class now is through a device, an iPad. We communicate often though Zoom meetings. My students and I are constantly recording ourselves to explain our thinking in our daily activities.
A specialized keyboard will help ease planning and have better meetings with my students.
The Magic Apple Keyboard has a special feature that allows me to use the iPad easier for video conferences. The keyboard will help in lesson planning. Everyday we as teachers have to be filling up paperwork and the typing in an iPad is hard unless you have a keyboard. Your kind donation will really help out during this harsh time we all are going through.
