Magic can happen when a child opens a book and discovers a whole new world. I am a First Grade teacher in a high need community. I am trying to instill a love of reading and education in the children that I teach.
My students want to learn and are eager to soar in their reading, however I lack the necessary multiple copies of these books that my students have become attached to, to really make my lessons meaningful.
If my students had multiple copies of these books, the literature circles would be flowing with fluency practice, discussion and excitement. The children delight in adventure and the two main characters of this series find a new adventure in every book. They also bring history alive.
You will make it possible for my students to develop a lifelong love of reading, adventure and learning. You will give them the courage to take risks, explore and become better readers. Your help will empower my students and give them the confidence to achieve.
