My Students
Do you remember the excitement you felt the first time you picked up a beloved book and could truly read the words on the page in front of you? Think back to how proud you were and how quickly you wanted to share that story with every other person in your world. In my first grade classroom, it is my intention to foster a love of reading for all of my students by offering opportunities for engagement, collaboration, and deep thinking.
My students are inquisitive, ambitious, eager learners who ask thoughtful questions and talk about their reading throughout the whole day!
First graders in my classroom are compassionate young people who constantly want to learn together. The classroom environment is crucial for children to feel comfortable and confident in taking risks in their learning. Access to high-quality books at their appropriate reading abilities is essential for first graders to develop their reading skills throughout the school year and beyond.
My Project
These new Magic Tree House book sets will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create with my students. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. Often, during free play times, you might walk into my classroom and see children choosing to spend their time exploring new adventures they have stumbled upon in a great book.
Series books allow children to follow characters through many adventures and use their imaginations to feel like they are on these fantastic missions with their favorite storybook friends.
Children will be able to choose from adventures that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word and discussing character motivations.
