We are a Title I, high-poverty school with a diverse student body. Our kids are driven and hungry for knowledge and experiences. They are artistically motivated and academically superior.
Our school was listed in USA News as one of the top high schools in the country based on testing and college prep.
We are a National Blue Ribbon school and have 96% of our graduates move on to university. We are an arts based, collaborative high school with students from all over the Oklahoma City metro and beyond. Many of our students are from urban neighborhoods with little to no access to the internet. They deserve the best that we can give them.
This is my eleventh year at this school, and I have seen it grow and thrive due to the public's generosity. I have seen my students go on to successful careers in college and beyond. As a faculty, we are always looking for any way to improve.
My Project
We need a large amount of multi-colored fabric to complete our set design and costumes for Pippin, our school musical. The fabric will be hung from the pipes above the stage to create a circus atmosphere, and, when the show is complete, the fabric will be taken down and stored for future use in costumes, upholstery and set/sewing projects for class. Getting the fabric by the bolt will solve many technical problems and save us money. It will also test my students' creativity in dealing with fabric as set materials.
