This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom consists of fourth and fifth-grade students with high functioning autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and other health impairments. We use the Common Core Curriculum and follow the same pacing plan as the general education classes.
My students are motivated and have a thirst for knowledge.
I provide a safe and fun environment for them to learn in. Roughly half the day, I teach in a whole group setting, while the other half is spent in small group settings where I can pinpoint needs and focus on individual weaknesses. We are a low-income, Title I school comprised of English learners and special education students. Most of my students do not have technology outside of the classroom.
My Project
We recently received an iPad Air in our classroom. The iPad is great and serves so many purposes. There are so many apps that I use on a weekly basis.
I would like to increase the capabilities of our classroom iPad.
By having a Magic Keyboard, we will be able to use it like a laptop. My students can use it to create their final step in their essay writing. My students will use Google Docs and publish their papers using the Magic Keyboard. My students can also use the Magic Keyboard and iPad to create Google Slide presentations. This new hardware will complete the set!
