My students need calendar math items which is a fundamental part of daily math!

I teach a multiage classroom of 1st and 2nd graders. Our school serves children all over the district but gives preference to lower-income areas. In addition, our school is in a port city in Georgia, which has three military bases nearby. This definitely contributes to the very diverse population of students that come to our classrooms.
Our unique school emphasizes developing the whole child and uses the community to drive our instruction.
Our Title I charter school is dedicated to being the driving force to positively change how education is viewed in our city. In an area that is known for providing sub-par education and having poor school performance, we seek to provide innovative teaching methods, excited teachers, a peaceful education environment, and many field trip opportunities. I am beyond lucky to have the opportunity to teach at such a unique and special place and have such a wide variety of students.
Students will benefit from the Elementary Calendar Math because it is crucial to their daily math understanding. Knowing your days of the week, number of days in school, place value, and money are hard skills that need to be practiced daily. This item is the perfect solution to learning this important standard. My students will love how interactive this item is along with a Base Ten Magnetic set. They will benefit from it daily. Calendar math is an integral standard for lower elementary students and at the moment it is difficult to implement this kind of learning without an interactive, specifically designed item. Each day we will complete the calendar. Students will understand sequencing through the days of the week, place value with the base ten blocks, and even coin values. I am excited to have this in my classroom!
