My students need the carpet to work on personal space and boundaries. My groups at times can be too large to work at the table so we work on the floor.

As a school social worker in a low-income, high poverty inner city school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom on a daily basis. Despite the many challenges they face such as not getting meals, having access to clean clothes, a bed to sleep in at night, or even a home to go to, I am trying to provide a safe environment and instill helpful skills they can take with them to last.
My students excel when they feel safe, and part of a community.
My students love to move around and enjoy working together. They love to learn through role play and active practicing. They learn through visual learning. My goal is to create a since of community in a creative and positive way.
Help my students learn the importance of personal space and boundaries with the use of this magic carpet. My groups are large at times so we work on the floor. The problem is they will sit to close to each other due to they have trouble with personal space and boundaries.
My students are visual learners and learn through role play.
The use of the circles on the magic carpet will help them with their personal space in a creative way. I will use this carpet in many different learning activities and help my students with being able to focus. It will be a great tool for the students. They do not know where to sit or stay during group activities. Having this carpet would allow my students to more mentally focus on the activities we are working on, instead of what is happening physically in their surroundings.
