This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I welcomed twenty amazing students to my classroom this fall when I moved back to the wonderful world of Kindergarten. My students come to school each morning excited to learn and see each other.
I center my classroom environment around being safe, respectful, and responsible.
I have created an environment that helps my students become a community. I strive to help my students understand the importance of being a good friend and treat everyone with respect both in and out of the classroom.
My Project
My Kindergarten students spend a lot of time on the floor learning together. We need a new carpet that is welcoming and practical for our classroom. This A Place for Everyone Classroom Carpet for 30 is large enough for our entire class and everyone can have their own square for their personal space. When students, parents, and other staff members walk into our room, our rug is the first thing they see.
Children need their own space and a space to keep their materials.
This rug will provide my students with a much larger learning space of their own. It will also allow us to make a bigger circle for our morning Social Emotional Learning meetings and ensure that each child feels welcomed and a part of the classroom.
