My students are my joy! They make me excited to teach every day! I am always looking for ways to accommodate my students so their needs are being met. I strive to give my students as much support as possible to ensure they reach their full potential.
My goal is to provide my students with the tools they need to be college and career ready!
I find we learn best when we have various tools and resources to choose from. My students look forward to using different resources in the classroom that fit their particular learning style, or need, on a daily basis.
My Project
My third grade students need a carpet spot to sit on during small and whole group instruction and individual/partner reading. Young children are in need of a comfy bubble spot when sitting on a carpet for certain lengths of time. They become restless for sitting too long and will need a brain break to refocus. Students will perform the break within their color spot on the carpet. They will learn about personal space early on in life as well as body control.
I plan to use the carpet everyday during whole group instruction, small group games, and individual reading.
The carpet will provide students with a comfortable personal space to learn while working with peers and listening to the teacher. Having their own individual spot on the carpet will help with organized seating/clear boundaries, body control, and focus/attention. With this carpet, each child has a place to call their own. Five color-coded rows make it easy to divide the class into small groups. The colorful squares are roomy and you can use the colors to play games or dismiss students by rows.
