My students live in a small community in Central Ohio with over 56% of our students living in poverty, with many even homeless. Our school, like others, is trying to provide our students with the best education possible and help set them up for lifelong success. We have been doing this by trying our best to teach to different learning styles, by individualizing learning, and incorporating technology and project-based learning whenever possible.
My school has recently switched to a hybrid educational model to engage, challenge, and enrich our students in the learning process through technology and project-based learning curriculum.
Students are constantly changing and so are we.
This year I have added an incentive candy machine to my classroom. It has been a hit and the students get so excited to earn coins to put in it. We are in need of candy to refill it. That is why I am requesting the skittles. I am also trying to bring back more reading into my classroom. When the students complete an assignment early I would like to give them a chance to read magazines. This is why I am requesting the magazine subscription and the magazine holder. The subscription is an important one as well as it is so important for middle schoolers to understand their feelings and have advice on what they should be doing.
