Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are mad for math stations! Our class is in need of a few new individual and partner math games. These games will help to support the learning of all different areas of math multiplication to place value.
I have students from all different backgrounds and walks of life.
Each student is unique in his or her own way. They are all full of energy and ready to learn! Each is deserving of a great education and the materials needed to make that education a bit more fun.
We are wanting to improve our math skills! By setting up stations for our math time, I can better help each student to focus on specific skills that are needed to be a successful 4th grader.
My Project
I have been wanting to help each student to learn and understand math. I have found that the best way students learn is through hands-on exploration and practice. By using stations, students will be able to have different learning opportunities. I have made it a point to incorporate hands-on experiences and gameplay during math stations. The games I am requesting are going to be a great addition to our math stations. By using the timers, student groups will be held accountable when it is time to switch. Using the multiplication flash cards, students will be able to practice fact fluency. The multiplication and division playing cards will create a fun and unique way for students to practice their facts, and the place value folder game library will provide students with additional practice to these fundamental math skills. These games range from multiplication to place value. I know that my students will better develop skills from this game.
I want to give my students a great learning environment, but realistically I cannot self-fund the materials that are needed, and my school cannot afford to purchase such materials for classrooms.
From low-performing to high-achieving students, all learning abilities can benefit from the use of these games. Your help will ensure that my students have the materials they need in order to continue to grow and blossom in my classroom.
