Help me give my students the glazes and cord we need to finish our amazing macrame planters! They have worked so hard to create a great gift for thier mom or grandma!
"To practice art, not matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, so do it" - my class motto. I have the most enthusiastic and artistic group of Juniors and Seniors in my Ceramics classes. They are so excited for every new project I introduce. I would love to be able to offer more challenging projects on a regular basis. The students inspire me everyday to come up with new way to keep them engaged and motivated. Hearing them say "Mrs. N., I look forward to your class everyday" is what I strive to continue hearing.
My Project
My students have created ceramic planters. We have planted seeds in our classroom and we are ready to glaze and braid the plant hanger! The sense of accomplishment that my students get from a completed and successful project is something I strive for with every project. I try to introduce a new project every week to keep student engaged and motivated. As the year progresses, the students become more confident and are so excited to see there projects come out of the kiln! They have made their planter and water dish, now we need glaze to get their last kiln firing done and move onto braiding the macrame. The day that the students leave the classroom with their planter, plant that they grew themselves, and a big smile, will be worth all of the hard work. Thank you for making this project possible....it means so much to the students and I.
