Machines In The Making

Help me give my students the opportunity to work in small groups! My students have loved the first set of Simple and Powered Machines, but we need more!

My Students

I teach students who are identified as intellectually gifted students. We work on creativity, social skills, critical thinking, affective skills, and information literacy. We spend time problem solving as a team and individually, and work diligently to grow in social aspects and life skills.

I enjoy teaching and encouraging my gifted students.

Intellectually Gifted students vary in academic and social abilities. They are often misunderstood. We work on how to advocate for their needs, while also overcoming emotional struggles. Some students are accelerated in these skills, while others need encouragement to push forward.

My Project

As current thinkers and dreamers, my students are encouraged to think deeper, ask more questions, and explore new ideas. A major project each year in our class is applying engineering skills to create marble roller coasters, toothpick bridges, small airplanes, and Rube Goldberg Machines!

We have one Simple and Powered Machines Set and we need more!

We are so thankful to our donors for our first set of Simple and Powered Machines Set! My students immediately jumped at the idea to learn and program with Legos! Each set is recommended for 2 students, and I have 12 each period! My students would benefit from having more sets, so we can all get our hands busy with learning!
