Science and every day life cannot and should not be separated! -Rosalind Franklin. I educate and facilitate students in a school that has over half of its population coming from a low, socio-economic environment. As a result, the majority of my kids don't have access to technology like computers or tablets necessarry to be successful at completing technology based projects.
My kids are extremely excited about modern day science and all that can be done through it.
They are intrigued daily about learning math and science in new innovative ways within a twenty-first century classroom. They love to see technology being intergrated into instruction when possible. They will use the MacBook within their Google Class using science and math standards to create iMovies, disections, computer programming through coding websites, and to create presentations that can and will be submitted for the yearly technology fair projects. Students will be able to work collaboratively, learn time managment, and how to hypothetically budget and fund their future projects/protoypes. All these skills are necessary to compete in a global economy.
With the usage and accessibility of the MacBook Pro, the students' math and science retention will improve tremendously because technology will be available to the students to use on a daily basis. Having access will increase the focus, excitement, and collaboration for the students to also complete their science projects with technology integration for the district science fair.
The students' imagination and learning capabilities will reach higher heights while they are learning computer programming skills.
The chance to use modern day technology will allow the students to produce the very best in science/math fair projects and boost esteem for competing and completing quality work in the annual science and technology fair, as well as ever day learning.
