This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income school, my students face many challenges both in and out of the classroom. 100% of students at my school receive free lunch. With this project, I will be able to plan fun ways to engage my students. These supplies will help us jump start authentic learning. Donations will help improve my classroom by teaching and giving students access to a variety of supplies to continue to spark interest in learning!
My students are academically successful which is reflected in the end of the year test results.
These students excel in spite of residing in low income housing. Many people term them as being “at-risk” students who will never excel in life. However, “Tiger Town” believes that all students will excel upon entering and learning in our school setting. When pushed and reminded of their greatness, these students are able to compete with affluent students.
My Project
This Macbook will open a world of possibilities for my intellectually hungry students. They will be able to conduct research, edit videos, and engage in virtual labs. Students will be able to develop cutting edge skills and complete tasks that would otherwise be impossible with our current resources. This will enrich their learning experience, engage their imaginations and ultimately deepen their knowledge.
My students are diverse, driven, and determined.
They crave opportunities for enrichment and self expression. They have an intrinsic desire to learn, and to push themselves to be outstanding students. This computer will enhance student learning in all subjects while developing their computer science skills.
