Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Each and every day, my students come to school eager to learn. Our expectations are high and we truly do reach for the stars! I know that every single one of my students has the ability to achieve their dreams, and it is my job to see that they do.
My inner-city school is comprised of an ethnically diverse population of hard-working families who want their children to have a bright future of unlimited possibilities.
Many of my students' parents work two and three jobs just to provide their children with basic needs. Over half of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. The children are hard-working as well. They appreciate the chance to come to school each day and are willing to work diligently toward meeting their goals.
My Project
In this age of rapidly developing technology, students need to be fluent in technology skills and able to adapt to different computer systems. Our Chromebooks and old MacBook Airs are just that - OLD!
A new state of the art MacBook Air is not a luxury, but an integral part of making students computer literate.
Whenever, possible, I integrate technology into our units of study, and as such, my students would love to have opportunities to practice using the most up-to-date version of apps such as Numbers, Pages, and iMovie. With a new MacBook Air, the sky is the limit!
