My Kindergarten students have such a love for life! Their energy and sweet nature brighten my day. They are excited about learning, especially when the learning is hands on. They enter the classroom at various skill levels and work so hard to reach our many goals. It amazes me how driven and creative they are when presented with engaging problems to solve. Watching them build their self-esteem and watching their enthusiasm and sense of pride grow is truly heart warming.
My Project
Our math lessons teach about shapes, numbers, sorting, addition and subtraction. There are a lot of workbook pages involved in our math curriculum. I’d like to incorporate more hands-on activities with the light table to make sure students are engaged. They will be able to use these materials in small groups for math, but also during free play for exploration. I have already purchased a set of Keva planks and my students love them. We are in need of more to replicate and build bigger structures. Students build two-dimensional figures as well as three-dimensional creations. This is STEM at work!
