My Students

I have run FIRST robotics programs in a previous school district. I had heard that the students at my local high school were interested in having a FIRST robotics team at their school. I volunteered to begin the program at the school. The students are in a rural school in Montrose, Michigan.

Last year was our rookie year, and the students amazed me!

We won an award at both of our competitions. We had a lot of struggles and overcame most of them.

My Project

FIRST robotics is a nationally recognized program. It is also very expensive to run. We are a second-year team with very little resources. We are a new team and need technology to help our team program and design the robot. We have struggled to raise enough money to just run the program, so we are unable to purchase items that we need like technology.

We will use these materials to program our robot and design it using CAD drawing programs.

Currently, we are using borrowed and out-of-date equipment that is hard to use. This also has caused us issues when we are competing.
