"It takes a village to raise a child." We need the help of others to help teach our students how they can change the world. I am trying to teach them that one person can make a real difference. It is a challenge showing them examples of how they can have an impact on the world around them.
I have a class of twenty-four students, twelve girls and twelve boys.
They come from all different racial and economical homes. Our school is located in Central Florida in a town that was greatly effected by the real estate crash. Many parents have suffered from unemployment. The school itself has a very tight budget and is unable to provide all of the necessary supplies for our classroom.
My Project
The resources that we have asked for all provide examples of how we can make a difference and help to save our planet. We will be able to study how different chemicals and other agents cause pollution and how we can stop it. Another resource that we would like are books about the environment, recycling and making a difference on our planet. Lastly, the students will be able to make a reusable tote bag to take with them when they go to the store. This will show how even the smallest thing can make a huge impact.
Donations to our project will improve our classroom by making the students more socially conscience.
They will learn how certain things are hurting the planet and ways that we can all make a change. My students will all know that they can each do their part, whether large or small, and it will all have an impact on our planet.
