My students are busy and curious about the world. We are working on our literacy and developing a growth mindset. Our motto is "If it is to be, it is up to me!!
Every child is unique and needs something a little different.
I work at a Title 1 school, and our students often lack access to the newest materials available for learning. My students come to school with the challenges of poverty, and I do my best to provide the support they need to thrive. We do not accept excuses at my school, and we work with families to overcome obstacles that get in the way of student success.
My classroom is a space that is welcoming and full of hope! Being comfortable in class leads to greater focus and stamina. I have, and will continue, to do whatever it takes to meet my students’ learning needs.
My Project
Reading quality books together is one way that students can develop a love of reading. Over the years I have witnessed children interact with books and change as learners through experiences they share in books.
Have you ever lost yourself in a book?
Have you ever gotten to know a character so well they seemed like a friend? It is my goal to give my students these experiences. Falling in love with books will foster a love of reading and learning. When we can meet together as a class and read the same book, students can make deeper connections with classmates through discussions of characters and the problems they overcome.
