I am so excited to be starting another school year with some fabulous fourth graders. This year, however, learning is extremely different than any year in the past. Students will be moving between a remote and hybrid setting, which is a very difficult way to learn and teach. The fourth graders in my class come with a wide range of learning abilities, diverse backgrounds, and some are even English Language Learners. Many are significantly above grade level, and need a challenge in their learning as well.
My Project
These materials will make an immense difference in my students learning. Because I have students who have a wide variety of learning abilities, these materials can be used as a challenge when needed, and also an enrichment for other students. The Scholastic News will bring current events to my students, in an appropriate way that they can understand and relate to. The Dyna Math will provide my students with a math challenge that is relevant to their everyday math curriculum. These materials will both tie in with our curriculum, but do so in a way that is engaging and interesting to the students. Because we are learning remotely, this will be a nice break from our typical every day routine, and help decrease the screen fatigue students feel. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
