This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
In my class each and every child has a gift they contribute to our changing world. I teach second grade students of mixed ability levels in reading. Some of my students are second language learners as well as special needs learners who struggle with reading. Many of my students come from a low socio-economic background within the inner city area.
My Students are bright, gifted and can do anything they set their minds out to do in life.
My classroom is about teaching every student how to read as instill the joy of reading and writing. Students are taught how to collaborate and work together as a team. I use differentiated instruction or small group instruction to instruct the children with various reading activities. We celebrate our reading accomplishments each and everyday as I see my students making their learning gains.
My Project
I strive to have a print rich reading environment for my students. I am trying to establish a cozy reading area for my second grade students in order to have each child bloom with their reading.
By donating to our project my students will begin to have an amazing classroom library center and book shelf where each child can choose a book to read at their instructional level and embrace the world around them.
My goal is to fill the bookcase with books of all interest levels to give my students motivation and foster the love of reading each and everyday!
