My students need this LEGO creative suite to develop spatial awareness, pattern recognition, and collaborate to create stories and practice vocabulary.
One thing I know after teaching for 12 years is that my students love building, creating, and learning with LEGOS.
My all-day Kindergarten students are busy throughout the day creating, sharing, problem solving, and collaborating with peers on various PBL experiences.
We are in a hands on environment where authentic learning tasks help us to grow and learn to be productive students with tools to help us succeed.
This LEGO creative suite I designed should help to create various math, science, and language stations throughout my classroom. The soft LEGO block set will be used to develop physical skills and spatial awareness as they build life sized figures, walls, and obstacle courses. They will use the sets to build and explore their local communities and to understand how they work while continually developing cooperation and teamwork with their peers. This project meets NAEYC guidelines and standards for gross motor and early math concepts that explore numeracy and 2D/3D shapes. These materials will provide my students engaging learning materials which support STEM.
This project will enhance the programs going on in our classroom by exploring cross curricular activities that support their skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics as well as language, literacy, and social studies.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
