Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The joys of discovery and the heartaches of change! This is the world of kindergarten. Many of my students have never been in school nor separated from there families. For many, English is there second Language and receive free lunch based on their socioeconomic status.
But, upon entering my class they become the reservoirs of wisdom and knowledge.
Here they learn to explore, discover, learn. It is my goal that they reach their destiny. My hope is that with a creative, positive environment they will become "renaissance people."
My Project
Kindergarten students are entering the world of discovery. Learning to read is essential to opening up that world. The materials, such as letter magnets, stamps, etc., will enable my kindergarteners to learn while having fun.
You will be contributing to a project that instills behaviors of independence, creates a classroom of highly engaged readers, writers, and learners, and provides me with the time and structure to meet diverse student needs.
Students in my classroom vary greatly in their literacy needs and ability levels. As a result, it is necessary to provide multiple opportunities for students to read, write, participate in meaningful experiences, and collaborate with others so that they can develop their ability to read and comprehend text(s).
