My students need a variety of books, that are interesting to them, to foster the love of learning.

I have an amazing group of 19 students in my class. They are an energetic group who are excited about learning. They love coming to school and really get along as a family within the class. However, they do come from a low income area of town which can bring some challenges. Many of the kids read below grade level. Most of my students are on free lunch and we are a Title 1 school. They are willing to work hard and I want to provide resources to help them succeed.
My students need engaging chapter books. They have recently caught the “reading bug” and we need books to keep them interested. They have read every book in our classroom library!
My students love to read about diverse characters in situations similar to theirs- we need books to excite them.
Books that reflect their lives help them relate to characters and escape into another world teaching them empathy and understanding.
We need a wide variety of levels for our diverse readers. Many of our students read below grade level and the best way to get them on grade level is to have awesome books easily accessible in my classroom!
