My Students
Our elementary school is a public, Title I school, in Florence. 693 students attend our school and identify primarily as White, non-Hispanic; Black, non-Hispanic; and Asian/Pacific Islander. 48% of the 693 students here are paying reduced lunch prices. The student to teacher ratio is 14:1. The 693 students have varying needs and are a diverse group of learners.
"We believe that all children should have an equal opportunity to experience the joy of learning and to achieve their fullest potential," is the vision statement at our school.
The dedicated staff of our school, together with a supportive community, is committed to providing an innovative, standards-based curriculum, that promotes social and academic growth, designed to prepare students to be responsible, contributing citizens of the 21st century.
We are proud of our various awards and recognitions that include National Blue Ribbon, Red Carpet Schools, Palmetto Gold, Reading Renaissance and Honor Roll School to name a few. To continue this growth and history of excellence, we strive to find and implement the latest technology in our classroom setting.
My Project
Mornings are always tough when starting out the school day. In our classroom, we like to start the day with fun interactive activities. The students are allowed to choose from a variety of educational games. We are a STEM certified school, and the Science Station kit will be an excellent tool for instruction. The robot would be used for coding, while combining target skills for my second graders.
The interactive games will allow students to become more engaged in learning.
I would love to be able to add these items to our morning routine. It will provide an opportunity for students to become motivated and to make their own choices about how they want to start the day. The new games will help grab students' attention and get them actively involved while still having fun!
