My Students

I am thrilled to continue teaching kindergarten! My students come from diverse backgrounds, with over half of them living at or below the poverty level. They are passionate about learning and come to school ready to explore and try new things!

My students and I are ready to persevere through the many challenges that we are faced with as we practice social distancing.

Even though the classroom looks different than it has in previous years, my students are excited to come to school and eager to be part of our safe classroom community. I learn just as much from them as they do from me as we learn through play. My students make me laugh every day and make teaching them one of the best jobs in the world!

My Project

One of the many challenges faced during this pandemic in the classroom is the need for students to have their own materials to use. It has been difficult to keep the students engaged with centers since they are unable to collaborate together at a center like they typically would.

This project provides enough material for each student to be able to participate in the same center at the same time.

This year my class is sitting at desks six feet apart instead of working at a table with peers together completing a center. The tiles and books allow the students to work individually in their seats and have their own set to keep in their desks.
