Help me give my students to relax and release while exercising and learning techniques to deal with problems in their lives with yoga mats, a bluetooth speaker and other supplies.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Namaste. My students are a group of young people who are looking for a place to relax and gain an understanding of centering one self. The goal of this class is to become a place a student can run away from the struggles, pain and or anything bothering them. Our school has a history of making sure each and every student feels safe and loved. We have a great amount of support, but sadly not all the students can afford some of the necessary items to be successful in this class.
My Project
To begin class each day the students are given time to mediate and calm their mind; when the students enter the class the goal is to give them an environment that is centered around peace. This comes in a couple ways, sometimes it is the sound of guided meditation or the peaceful sound of the outdoors. The speaker will help me provide this for the students. During class, each student will be provided with full yoga instruction, the mats are to makes sure the students are able to complete each movement in a comfortable matter. Some of our students are in this class because of previous injuries or they are athletes that need the extra attention and care for their bodies. Because we are all in different levels, yoga blocks help provide those students with the proper way to modify certain movements. Thank you again for any and all help.
