I teach a fun-loving group of fourth graders! They are mainly from low-income family situations, struggles at home, and sometimes fluctuating between places to live. I have a very diverse group that work together to support each other and themselves. They are motivated to learn and enjoying discovering new things!
It is an exciting year in our room and we are working towards becoming model fifth graders for next year!
Our motto in our room is "We're role models for kindergartners and fourth graders!".
My Project
Currently, my students are writing, but it's lacking some passion! Our schedule this year, has students working on their writing at the end of the day. I would like to see the passion they possess be sparked by more excitement when it's time to write!
I would like to give my students more options of the tools they can use, and the colors they can write on!
The highlighters will be used to check their work and make sure they have all parts of the rubric in their papers. The paint markers will be used to decorate the front of the writing notebooks with their names. The erasers and pencil grips will be motivation to keep students working hard by fun rewards. The fun pencils will be used as motivation for hard working students. Lastly, the two different types of paper will be for exciting final drafts.
