This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My third grade student have been working hard this year on improving their vocabulary, reading stamina, and comprehension through different read alouds and novel studies. My students have loved other novel studies this year. When we read novels as a class, my students are extremely engaged with story and love to talk to their peers about it. For our next novel study I would like to read "Because of Winn Dixie" as a class and be able to give each of my students their own copies of the story to follow along. If each student has their own copies of the novel it will give a chance to dive deeper with the story!

Novel studies are a great way to work on reading skills such as plot, vocabulary, character traits, and responding to comprehension questions!
