My Students

I am a Reading Recovery teacher, and I work one-on-one with about eight students annually that are reading below the classroom average. During my lesson with my students, we read familiar text, do some letter and word work, and I introduce a new book to them daily.

My students are reading below their classroom average.

They like fiction stories and enjoy taking their books home with them to read to family members. Our school is a small, rural school with students from many different backgrounds. The books I select for my students are based on their interests and favorite characters.

My Project

I selected these books because I have introduced some of these characters to my students before but do not have any more books in the series. They showed a lot of interest in the books they have read, and I think they will really love these new ones. It will help to spark their love of reading by reading books they love.

The addition of these books to my classroom will help my students by giving them books of high interest.

This series of books will help create a deeper understanding of the characters throughout the series.
