Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first-grade students are coming to school knowing that this is their happy place. My school is a Title I school with 100% of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch each day.

My students are growing up in large low-income families and are unable to afford basic school supplies for school or even at home.

My students are very important to me and anything I can give them in the classroom to help make their learning fun I will do. Watching them thrive from a fun learning environment is amazing.

My Project

My students have become passionate readers since my school has started the Reading Rangers program. Being a first grade teacher, most of my books are picture books. Since starting the Reading Ranger program, most of my first grade students started reading chapter books.

I am in need of these wonderful chapter books for my classroom.

I enjoyed reading them growing up and I've watched my students start enjoying the few they have read. I am hoping that getting the boxed sets of these will help them grow their love for these characters and continue to love reading as much as they have come to do.
