This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a third grade teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students not only face several challenges within our classroom, but also outside of our school community. Although they are faced with challenges, they do not let these challenges get in the way of their learning.

My classroom is filled with inquisitive and eager third grade students, all striving for success now and for their future.

They come to class each day determined to learn more than they did the day before and continually try to fill in their educational gaps by making me proud!

My Project

The students in my 3rd grade classroom love technology. There are many wonderful websites and applications that they can use to supplement their learning. However, in order to access this technology, they require headphones and unfortunately, the few that are in our classroom are not functioning properly. Getting new headphones will ensure that my students will still have access to the great technology available in the classroom so that they can access websites such as Reflex Math, Dreambox, Read Theory and Imagine Learning. The headphones will also be helpful for students when it comes time for standardized testing in the spring.
