This classroom is full of highly energized and diverse young students. We have the unique opportunity to attend a school that is located in the heart of downtown Kansas City, which allows the city to be our campus.
Our goal is to prepare and inspire students to build a better tomorrow by providing an academically rigorous education in a creative, collaborative, community-focused environment.
We hope to achieve this goal through blended learning and co-teaching, which promotes problem solving, communication, and teamwork. We also emphasize creativity and student choice so our students have a voice in their learning. We want our students to be scholarly, culturally literate, and service-oriented individuals who will pursue their dreams relentlessly and have a positive impact on their family, their community, and the world.
One of the primary objectives in kindergarten is to develop a love of learning and reading. This passion can evolve at an early age and then inspire students to explore the world through literacy. To help achieve this goal, I would like to provide comfortable and flexible seating options in our classroom's reading nook and library. These reading spaces should be inviting and relaxing so students have the intrinsic motivation to read books there.
I want my students to have multiple seating options so they can find one that best fits their individual learning style.
By having the ability to choose a space, my students will have ownership of their learning. With the addition of the flexible seating bundle from Lakeshore, my kindergarten students will have the opportunity to dive into books from comfortable and nontraditional furniture.
