I teach intellectually disabled students with Autism, Down's Syndrome, speech and language impairments, visual impairments, hearing impairments, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments.
My students are amazing and deserve the best that can be provided for them to assist with their sensory needs.
They enjoy being at school and participating in all learning activities. They are caring individuals who are headed into adulthood outside of the school environment. They are working on skills that can help them be better citizens at home, at school, and in the community.
The students in my room need time to regroup in our sensory room. They benefit from sitting and relaxing on a bean bag chair where they can move around and rest to be able to reenter the group again. We currently have an old bean bag chair that has lost all of its "fluff".
When the current high school students sit in the bean bag chair they sink to the bottom and are basically sitting on the floor.
They need a better way to have them be able to calm down. This FLUFFCHAIR will help them learn to self-regulate. Calming rules!
