My students need copies of The Case of the Missing Moonstone, The Meaning of Maggie, The Boundless, Fora and Ulysses, The Ghosts of Tupelo Landing, Nest, wonder, The Year of Billy Miller, The One and Only Ivan, Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library and The Family Under the Bridge.
There is nothing like picking up a book and losing yourself in it. Reading is something my students enjoy doing. However, we do not have a big classroom library. I would love to be able to provide them with opportunities to go to different worlds through reading by obtaining books for my classroom.
I teach in a Title I school and many of my students have difficult lives.
Reading is very important to them because it allows them to go to a new world. Sometimes the reality they live in is not the greatest. If they have a good book to read, they can get excited about it; they can enjoy going on quests with Percy Jackson, going to Hogwarts with Harry Potter, or solving mysteries using 39 Clues. My students are all imaginative and love discovering new worlds through reading.

The books for my classroom will be used for my students' pleasure. However, reading is not only something for them to enjoy. I want to make sure I have books that my students will enjoy reading to help build their fluency and comprehension skills. The more they enjoy a book, the more likely they will read it and really remember it.
Getting my project funded will make a difference in my classroom because it will provide my students with more opportunities to read.
Having more books in the classroom allows more students with a chance to pick up a book and lose themselves in a whole new world.
