Looking Good

My students need a tripod and a white background to generate high quality, expressive portraiture.

My Students

Existing supplies allow for the most rudimentary type of portrait photography and require ISO settings which often result in work of inferior/amateurish quality. Access to new photographic studio equipment would provide students with the opportunity to produce portraits they can be proud of.

We have 52 Digital Design students and up to 26 AP Art students of varying levels of skill and ability.

Students reside in, and attend a public high school in Western Nassau County in New York State. Students in AP 2D Design and Digital Design class will submit their printed projects for evaluation using a standard grading rubric. The AP College Board will evaluate submitted work from the AP Art course according to their own criteria.

My Project

The goal of this project is to provide the opportunity for Digital Design and AP Two-Dimensional Design students to shoot professional looking portraiture suitable for presentation, framing, submission to the AP College Board, fundraising, and inclusion in college portfolios. Other objectives include promoting more fine arts applications of digital media and providing an increase in available high quality photographic studio options for students and staff.

This item particularly lends itself to use by nearly every department in our school.

Portraits can be generated of honored staff members, student award and scholarship recipients, musical production leads, etc.
