Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I love my students! I am amazed every day at how awesome my students are.
They are on time, ready to learn, and so smart.
My school is in a low-income area of the city with about ninety-two percent of our students at the poverty level. My students are ethnically diverse, hardworking, and enthusiastic about just about everything. My students love to learn and try new things. They work well together and take care of each other. We have built a great classroom community this year which I hope will carry over as they move to junior high next year.
My Project
It may seem strange looking forward, when your haven't yet reached the end, but that is what teachers do. At the end of the year, we start planning for the next, and with that comes the need for replenishing supplies.
I know this type of project doesn't have the whiz-bang of some of the others, but having the day to day supplies is what enables teachers to create the whiz-bang in our classrooms.
My students are amazing, but cannot always provide supplies from home. We need notebooks for math journals, card stock and printing foam for print making during art, and good pencils to be able to do our daily work. Having these basic (and some fun) supplies, being a student is less stressful and more fun.
