Our school is a small, rural, elementary school. Students learn inside as well as outside of the classroom.
My students are curious, keen observers, and love the natural environment.
They are eager to share their observations and ask many questions.
My students are natural observers and love to be outside learning about the world around them. Each fall and spring, we study the birds in our own back yard. Every other year we take a trip to the coast, where we have a chance to see some shore and sea birds.
Binoculars open a whole new world and students are excited to share what they see.
I know this because I was able to borrow some binoculars last year. My reluctant learners from the classroom transformed into the most motivated, engaged students, actively seeking out birds to observe, and share with others.
