This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom is a busy place full of learning and collaborating! My students are learning at various levels and they enjoy working together. They are kind, thoughtful, and extremely witty. My students enjoy using all different kinds of manipulatives to keep learning engaging! I use a lot of different resources, strategies, and tools to keep my students engaged.
My students can be seen doing new things every day!
While also, having structure and organization in our daily routine. My students enjoy having responsibilities and are very helpful towards each other.
My Project
The main goal for any teacher is to teach their students skills that will be beneficial in their futures. One of those skills is cooking. Cooking is not always a skill that is taught in schools nor in a child's daily routine. Cooking should be part of a child's school day for many reasons. Cooking is an essential part of independence and independent living.
Cooking supplies will allow my students to learn math, science, and reading skills!
The supplies that are donated will allow my students to create a meal and develop the confidence they need to cook on their own.
The supplies will be used in conjunction to a cookbook for students with reading and learning disabilities. The cookbook gives illustrated instructions and picture supports.
