My Students
My students come to school excited to learn about and explore their world every day! Our school is the only elementary school in our small town, so we really are a tight-knit family. They are little sponges who absorb new learning opportunities, and tackle every challenge they are presented with, including challenges they faced during and after Hurricane Harvey. My kiddos are champions and will always persevere and therefore I will do whatever it takes to ensure they have what they need to succeed.
My Project
If you've ever seen a 7 or 8-year-old in action, you've probably seen how they learn best...by doing!
They are the BEST at touching and feeling everything!
That being said, one of the items we use most in our class for math and science lessons are games that utilize large magnetic manipulatives the students can fully engage with which enhances their understanding of the concepts. I picture my kiddos using these magnetic base 10 blocks, fraction pieces, and life cycle visuals to be able to comprehend, collaborate with peers, and solve real equations. These will definitely appeal to and engage my students who are visual learners!
