My students are a group of highly energetic and motivated First Graders. They love to learn and delight in sharing their knowledge with others. My students come from diverse backgrounds and our school is located in a high needs area. With that in mind, I want to give my students every advantage that I can to be successful and reach their full potential. We learn from one another on a daily basis and strive to be cognizant of what we can do to help others through learning and caring. Being able to fully meet the diverse learning styles in my classroom is something that I strive for on a daily basis. This iPad will certainly help meet the daily challenges my students have accessing the curriculum in their own level.
My Project
Mathematical Fluency begins in the elementary grades and is the basis for Math success throughout ones academic career.
Students need the tools necessary to be able to engage in Math talks, to support their answers through academic talk, to use manipulative to gain the confidence to increase fluency, as well as seeing that Math can be fun, engaging and it isn't scary once you have the tools necessary to thrive.
Help me help my students gain the confidence necessary to fully engage in Math and to talk about it like you would literature. You can learn a lot through Math talks!
