This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My wonderful pre-k students are very curious and eager learners. They are students who have different exceptionalities including speech delays and autism spectrum disorders. They are loving, kind and sweet children who come to school each day bright eyed and bushy tailed ready to face whatever I throw at their little minds.
While their backgrounds, home languages, socio-economic statuses and exceptionalities may be different, my students are all united in their willingness to try and learn new things each and every day.
My Project
My students love when I read to them. They are still developing their phonics and reading skills and this listening center and read along library is just the component they need to improve their reading skills in the areas of fluency and word recognition.
I have seen the pleasure and learning that takes place during story time and this center will build upon and grow those reading skills.
The read along library will also introduce them to more interesting books and materials that will be easier for them to follow along and learn from. I look forward to your assistance in making this project a reality for my students.
