Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students come from all parts of the city. They come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 80% of our students receive free lunch. The budget for simple things, to be able to play a sport, such as athletic gear, uniforms, balls, bats gloves etc., needs to be divided between 10 other teams in the building which makes it difficult to get the necessities needed every single year. Currently, we are in need of new uniforms for the start of our season. It is mandatory that all our students are geared with matching uniforms in order to be eligible to play during the season. With your help we will be able to get our season underway.
My Project
In order to be able to compete, we need the minimum, and that is uniforms. Being able to get the proper uniform attire we will be able to play and compete as a team. Our team members can't purchase their own uniforms due to different financial strains in their personal lives.
With your help, our students will be able to play the sport that they love while getting a great education at the same time.
