We love to learn! These students can't wait to see what school and the world has in store for them and are so enthusiastic about learning! They are highly active and very energetic. They love to be hands on and learn by watching others and doing it for themselves. They also love to be the "teacher" and share what they know with the class.
Our classroom is filled with 24 bright, beautiful, and blooming first graders who have a thirst for learning as much as they can each and every day.
Our classroom is located in Western Pennsylvania.
My Project
Students learn by watching and doing. By having a chart stand in my classroom, I will be able to create meaningful lessons that model what the children are learning. This chart stand is both magnetic and a dry erase board. I plan on using both of these to help my firsties build a strong phonemic awareness. We will practice our phonics skills on this board with both magnets and writing them. We will practice sentence structure daily through the use of the magnetic sentence strip holders. This chart will allow me to hang anchor charts so my visual learners have a place to refer to when practicing various skills in our classroom.
Both students and teacher will have the opportunity to model skills on this incredible chart stand.
Research shows that this is important for engaging the students and helping them build connections. We use these tools in mathematics, writing, and literacy.
