Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is located in a high-poverty area, and over 95% of our students come from low-income families. Most students rely on hand-me-downs from siblings and free lunch at school, and they tend to always hope for the best. Even though they are faced with daily struggles, they come to school every day ready and eager to learn.
I want my students to become thinkers in all areas.
I want them to learn that there is always more than one way to solve a problem.
My Project
The children love looking for words from our Word Wall! These are common sight words that will set them on the path to independent reading. I am going to use the bulletin board to create a more organized and accessible Spanish word wall.
Students will be able to improve reading, and writing abilities while taking their learning into their own hands.
The stamps will help them practice their spelling words.
The tackboard and alphabet stampers will help to allow my students begin to grow as learners now and for the rest of their educational career and hopefully into their adult lives.
The donations to this project will make an immediate difference in our classroom.
