I teach in a rapidly growing school with over 750 students Kindergarten through 5th grade. In one year, we have gained almost 40 new students to our community school. I am one of six 1st grade classrooms. My daily challenge is to find ways for all my students to learn and have fun while learning.
My students learn best by seeing, hearing, touching, and exploring. I love watching my children's faces as they learn through exploration and experimentation. Unfortunately, as our school and class sizes increase, I have realized I do not have all the hands-on materials that my children need.
With your help, I would like to order Sort & Match Phonics Games. From beginning sounds to rhyming words, these engaging games give students hands-on experience with phonics sounds—in a super-fun format! Students just place a center tile on the board, then sort through picture and word cards to find matching sounds…and race to be the first to fill their path with cards!
I would also like Working with Words Learning Games. These ready-to-use games help students develop essential reading skills as they play, from building compound words to creating regular and irregular plurals.
Also, I would like a Teaching Tiles Language Center. This all-in-one center gives students active, hands-on practice with reading skills! Students slide a self-checking activity card into the tray, then use picture and letter tiles to build words, form sentences and more.
These hands-on, engaging learning games will build upon the reading skills my students learn throughout the school year. I can only imagine how many times I will hear: LOOK AT ME, I'M READING! What a wonderful thing for a teacher to hear!
