As an education campus, our school offers students the unique opportunity to learn and grow together from age 3 to 14. With that comes challenges, with resources and funding stretched between the varying needs of these age groups.

My Project
"Ms. R., my headphones are broken!" A phrase very commonly overhead in my classroom. We have learned our lesson the hard way, and need to invest in some sturdy headphones to help with online learning programs.
At least once a day, each student has the opportunity to log on to one of our engaging digital programs.
I have structured our day this way so that I am able to differentiate instruction and meet the varied needs of all my students. While some students are learning through digital media, I can pull a guided reading group to work on the specific skills they need to master to move to the next reading level. In math, I am able to deliver instruction more effectively, by teaching in small groups. While I am teaching 8 or so students on the rug, the rest of the class is engaged in rigorous online learning.
This only works if all students have reliable headphones that they can use completely independently. Through this project, my students will become more independent, allowing me to devote more of my time and attention to these small group lessons.
