Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are just beginning 1st grade and they are blooming little readers. They love reading!! We are a Title 1 school which means more than 51% of our population is on free or reduced lunch. My students come to school eager to learn. They understand the importance of reading different genres. They want to improve their reading skills.
Giving them Leveled Readers that interest them will help foster their love of reading.
I love watching their eyes light up when they see a new book in their box. I want to see that every day.
My Project
These leveled books will enhance our classroom library. It is a place that my students really enjoy going to every day to read independently. I want them to be able to choose interesting books on their level. Every book in my library is treated with love and care. I have watched their love for reading grow. I want that love to grow with new books.
It is very important that my students are able to read fiction and non-fiction books on their reading level.
I want them to feel successful, whatever level they are reading at. These books will help my students become stronger readers.
